Adam Henein (1948-2007)
Known as the Godfather of Egyptian Sculpture, he was born in Cairo, Egypt in 1929 and died in 2020. After receiving a degree in Sculpture from the School of Fine Arts in Cairo in 1953, Henein continued his training in Munich and Paris, where he lived for 25 years until 1996 when he returned to Cairo. He founded the Aswan International Sculpture Symposium. Henein has received numerous awards for his work, which has been exhibited in Egypt, the Arab world, Europe, and New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
