Farouk Hosni

Farouk Hosni was born in the Mediterranean town of Alexandria in early 1938. Educated in Alexandria, Hosni graduated from the Alexandria Academy of Arts in 1964. Hosni was the Cultural Attaché in charge of the Egyptian Cultural Center in Paris and then the head of the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome. He was the Egyptian Minister of Culture till his retirement in 2011. He has received several international awards and has recently inaugurated the Farouk Hosni Museum in Cairo.
