Ibrahim Alhassoun

"I recreate the shapes of objects and physical forms that surround me and I represent them in new, unique forms. My work is not built on the idea of beauty, but rather on the way and process which I undertake to finalize and create them. The two things that drive me are: imagination and memory.

Ibrahim Al-Hassoun was born in Aleppo, Syria in 1972 and currently lives in Istanbul, Turkey. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Oil Painting Department, Damascus University (1995) and holds a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts (1996).

Ibrahim has held several solo and group exhibitions locally and internationally. He also exhibited some of his artwork at Marmara Museum with Dar Al-Kalemat in Istanbul (2014). Three of his works  works can be found in as part of the collection of  Museum of Modern Art in Damascus.
