Qais Al Sindy

“In my artworks, I practice diverse media: Paintings, Installations, Conceptual Art, videos, and multimedia installations. Yet, I rely mainly on painting in order to achieve the reconnaissance of the most existing hot topics in our realm. I borrow my inventive prophecies from reality. Regardless of the technics; the picture is not fully satisfy with the imaginary things. There is always a flying idea; which I capture and convert to colors on my canvases. Basically being an Iraqi artist (living for the last decade in California-USA), I attempt to compromise the cultural exchange between my Mesopotamian background and Western present. Such mix in culture and knowledge enhanced my ability to depict my humanitarian issues through caring vision. However, I do not deny the mind, despite the obvious emotional prosperity. Since the aim of my art is to represent not only the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance, therefore, through my art I ask a lot of questions and let the answers to be interoperated by the eye of the beholder, and everyone will have his own understanding. Through my colors, I protest against the world’s brutality that causes people’s agony, tension and suffering. I would like, in my arbitrary approach in art, to bring one nearer to the actual human being. We are human, and nothing is more interesting to us than humanity. In my ART, I leave traces of what I created.”
