Syrian Art in Exile

Recently in all channels of the news and social media, so much has been revealed about the devastating effects of the Syrian Crisis on all citizens of Syria. Artist have also felt the brunt of this ugly civil war.

Recently on a trip to Beirut , we have had the chance to meet two renowned Syrian artists who have sought refuge in the city of Beirut. Saad Yagan, after rebels stormed and burnt his book and art collection, and Hammoud Chantout, fearing for the lives of his family have both left Syria to settle in Beirut. Syra Artswill be showcasing the works of both artists in the US. The first will be Chantout at an exhibition in the Galleryopening September 15th and Yagan in the spring of 2016.
